Family:  Glycymerididae (bittersweet clams)
Max. size:  6.5 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 100 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sandy bottoms (Ref. 2780). Found in coarse sand and gravel (Ref. 113224). It is a sessile-burrower, suspension feeder (Ref. 96498).
