Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Southern Pacific, Southern Atlantic and Antarctic Atlantic.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  It is found on all kinds of hard substrates, but is common in lower red algae zone and feeds on red and green algae. It also has a good tolerance for salinity fluctuations and low salinity with values of 15 to 22 psu (Ref. 87801).
