Comments: Nesting occurs from October to March. Three major nesting areas: Capricorn-Bunker Islands, Bundaberg to Round Hill Head coastline and Swain Reefs Islands. Those nesting on the coastline and in Capricorn region form a panmictic population while those on the reefs do not interbreed with the previous population (Ref. 97534). In Mon Repos Bundaberg, 48 to 190 eggs per clutch were observed for 1,056 nests with a mean of 127 eggs. Size and weight of hatchlings ranges from 3.9 to 4.96 cm with a mean of 4.34 cm and 20.7 g of mean weight for 817 individuals (Ref. 1397). Also, those nesting in Mon Repos are polyandrous (Ref. 97534).
