Comments The first introduction of Rapana venosa is uncertain, but the first reported sighting was along the coast of Brittany in 1997. The following years saw R. venosa records of several individuals in an intense effort to search and collect with the intent of eradication. The vector for introduction was established in 2001 as ballast clam culture bags of Tapes philippinarum that were transferred from the Adriatic Sea. Ref. Mann, R., A. Occhipinti and J.M.
