Shell in high, with moderate length, having 10 to 11 rounded whorls. Sutures are slight impressed. Numberous ribs presents on each whorl, including the upper part of the body whorl. Outer lip of adult shells forms a distinct point. Siphonal canal is short, and the columella is smooth and slightly thickened. Shell is brownish, often with a distinct white band. Spiral striae are white. Aperture is brown, with white lines on the inside of striae. Operculum is brown and horny.
Found in sandy shores, lying on the sand or half buried (Ref. 125338). Occur in the low to mid intertidal zone (Ref. 128877). Also in mangrove areas, part of both epifaunal and arboreal communities (Ref. 128397).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
