Occurs at depths between 50 to 100m (Ref. 96391). Sessile (Ref. 3123). Solitary (Ref. 2377). Dwells in fine muddy clay substrates. Recorded from 3.5% salinity and temperatures of 6°C to 7°C. Predatory (Ref. 128428).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
